Gaia 02:04
Can you tell, what makes a living being Is it root, core, sense Is it the words, that come from all around you Is it the world, you seem to see Our freedom codependent Gaia, mother, we are one Do you exist and do I care Our roots entangled, intertwined Our freedom codependent Gaia, mother, we are one Our freedom codependent Gaia Mother We are one Do you exist and do I care Our roots entangled, intertwined Our freedom codependent Gaia, mother, we are one

Leviathan 05:51
The condition of man is war Of everyone against everyone I build the walls that keep you safe I toil to see your children grow Unharmed by existence or you I am the jailer to your lust Unharmed by existence I am the jailer to your exaltation I I am she She that is to govern a whole nation The condition of man is war Of everyone against everyone So, you think I‘m order amid chaos A little blood makes the grass grow faster Carve wood and chips will fall, will fall Until the woods are reduced to splinters Among the clarity of graves I I am he He that is to govern a whole nation Must read himself, not this or that Particular man; but mankind Think for yourself! Think for yourself Because it´s up to you to make this world a better place It´s about empathy, humility, and respect To seek peace and follow it

A brick wall. A brick wall My eyes wander. This is my cage My closed door. This red mirror Myself, another, other This is my cage. My eyes closed All names are there. A world of its own The sound of horizons Beyond the wall Am I the only one to hear What makes us human is not Is not too see the brick wall To give it a name What makes us human is to hear Is to hear beyond the wall To smell the scent of roses unseen The sound of horizons Beyond the wall Am I the only one to see

Drown 03:33
There‘s no soul deeper than that Of the sapling you break The wail of a single creature Dying shatters the whole A single broken link disrupts the machine What you believe you understand is only… A faint reflection of truth The dying, the killing, unacknowledged for centuries You struck down my children, poisoned the soil When you struck for the branches, you damaged the roots When you struck for the limbs, you pierced the heart Now drown in the tears of the mother Unlike the leaves my roots have no end Unlike your beliefs I have no end I‘m digging through earth, through graves, through dirt I am digging through you Should I shrink from your touch The taint is poison, yet I drink I am yours For the taking, I will vanish as you will I will vanish as will you
6.
Manifold 06:46
You are digging for a sense of… I dreamt I saw myself in a rabbit hole Digging for a sense of self I saw myself in shards of glass Manifold I saw myself in you There is truth somewhere Somewhere I think I heard creaks I heard voices from behind I saw a glow through the skylight I heard an echo of what was and what is to come I heard a record of myself Wailing, screaming, laughing On the edge of town A hedge of thorns We sit on the outside looking out Feeling the soft sting of thousand pricking needles in our back And civilize our backs to the roses Our backs to their thorns Are we heading out Into the woods Into the wilderness
7.
Hysteria 02:44
The blink of an eye It makes you shiver, and freeze, and scream They wielded their power over you Broke your body as they would a seal They wield their power over you They drag you out and put you on display To admire your madness Help comes from a primal scream But there‘s light from a word A world where truth is revealed Where the devastations of their power are exposed A light that makes them small Expose their weakness It was only a dream It was only a dream, they say But they can never put it back to rest They can never make it sleep soundly again Again, again, again

Liberation A condition of lust A condition of joy A constitution that honors The freedom of all A condition of fairness A condition of justice A state that fosters equality of all Liberate Liberate Liberation Foundation of our society Constitution for a modern state This common good is ours A condition of fairness A condition of justice A state that fosters equality Liberation

I Am Demon 01:29
I am she Looking from such great heights I am a thousand eyes Trapped in glass, drowning in honey I, the fly The thousand eyes I, the fly I am demon I am above and below and beyond As I gaze onto you You stare back Will you come at me this last time Will I flee Will I flee I am he Mocking you from this height Mocking you from this height I, the fl

New Approach 03:39
Means to an end Worship the purpose Limit cognition to what is to be done Limit experience to what we expect Limit your gaze to closer stars The ceiling suffices A new approach, another set, another set of eyes Another way to identify, identify the lies Close the books that tell you otherwise Don’t divide Don’t dissent There is no end to this system Don’t divide Don’t dissent There is no end to this system No voice for another truth or is there… A new approach, another set, another set of eyes Another way to identify, identify the lies A brand new room to look into Uncontaminated by dust of old A new approach A brand new room

Faster, faster still Devoid of meaning Speed in infinite nothingness, faster still Worlds turn The mass of men leads lives of quiet desperation From this chalice each of us drinks Searching a potion, finding poison Give me a light and a mirror to see myself as I want to see myself Break all the dead lights Humanity forget And wash yourself in the light of our dying sun Tear down the walls and wash yourself in the light of our dying sun

What will you build using my blueprint A fortress, a crypt for the living And what will you use The stones of your father‘s house and the bones of mine Do you have the mind To use new stones Bricks of your own making Can you shape your bones to fit And can you draw maps with new colors Can you make this house a living thing To use new stones Bricks of your own making Can you shape your bones to fit The mark of these bones hold strength still To build a home for us and the next ones

about

It would be too easy to simply attribute the band‘s music to its name. Even though grindcore is one of the genres the quintet plays, GRIND stands for anything but simplicity. Ulf Diel (drums), Jan Erner (voc), Armin Dobat (bass), Bent Knudsen (guit) and René Michalski (guit, voc) have known each other for 30 years as protagonists of various Post & Noise Rock as well as Death Metal and Grindcore bands from Flensburg, Germany. They create songs filled with authenticity and heart, performed with a combination of playful precision and passion.

But most important: GRINDs music goes beyond limitations of specific genres and clichés. The aforementioned Grindcore is joined by stylistic influences ranging from death/black metal to noise and post-rock. Sublimity and gentleness alternate with ferocity and malice, confidence set to music with despair.

GRIND continues on their liberal path without genre boundaries, ready to take everyone with them who wants to open up to meaningful content and forms of expression.
